Amy earned her degree in marketing with an emphasis in sales and advertising, and a certificate in marketing research from the University of Northern Iowa. After college, Amy moved to Iowa City, IA and spent over a decade working in corporate marketing and public relations. During that time she led marketing teams, and specialized in brand development through charitable giving, sponsorship, and community involvement. She also served as Treasurer and Secretary of The MidWestOne Bank Foundation and was the creator and founding festival director of “Rock the Chalk”- an annual chalk art festival in downtown Iowa City. This time in her career not only solidified her "lens to the customer", but provided her with insight into industry sectors such as banking, nonprofit, retail, cooperatives, economic and community development, the arts, and more. She then pivoted her career to leading operations, and serving as the Interim Senior Executive at a multi-location retail store in the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids area. With just under $24M in sales, three store locations, a centralized kitchen, and approximately 150 employees. This role provided her with invaluable first hand experience in organizational leadership and change management. Her diverse and nonlinear path provides her with a wealth of experience and perspective which informs her current work with organizations.

In addition to her professional experience, Amy has served as a Member, President/Chair, and Officer of multiple Boards of Directors in the Iowa City area. In these roles, she has led Executive Director searches, overseen a $5M multi-organization capital campaign and led through organizational change. She now uses her cross-sectional experience in board leadership and as a senior executive managed by a Board, to educate and provide a unique perspective to help boards and agencies function well and boards govern effectively.

Outside of work you can find Amy walking her beagle, reading a good novel, watching a documentary, dancing in her living room, listening to records, scrolling tik-tok, keeping up with her 11-year-old son, or losing track of time in a thrift store. She loves Star Wars, leather jackets, summertime, Diet Coke, old houses, Taylor Swift, Doc Martens, flowers, bad movie sequels, and traveling near and far. She resides in Iowa City, IA with her son Brooks, partner Kyle, and regal beagle, Maya.
